Etsy Listing Photo Size: 2000×2000

Etsy needs at least 2000 pixels on the shortest side to enable its zoom feature — square photos also survive Etsy's search-thumbnail crop without losing anything important.

2000 × 2000
Etsy's minimum recommended listing photo size to activate the zoom feature shoppers use to inspect a product closely. A square format also matches how Etsy crops your photo for search result thumbnails.

Etsy enables a hover-to-zoom feature on listing photos, but only once the image reaches at least 2000 pixels on its shortest side — anything smaller and shoppers can't zoom in to inspect detail, texture or craftsmanship, which matters enormously for handmade and vintage goods.

Step by step

Open Squeezr and drop in your product photo.

Turn on Resize, unlock the aspect-ratio lock, and set width and height to 2000 × 2000.

Choose Crop mode if your photo isn't already square, keeping the product centered.

Export as JPG at 88–90% quality — high enough to survive Etsy's own compression without visible artifacts, while staying under the 1MB Etsy recommends for reliable uploads.

Upload as your listing's photo — repeat for the full set of up to 10 images per listing.

Skip the manual math — open Squeezr with this preset already dialed in.

Why square, specifically?

Etsy center-crops your first listing photo to a square for search result thumbnails, regardless of its original shape. A photo you upload as a landscape or portrait rectangle risks having its edges — and anything important placed there — cut off in exactly the view where shoppers first decide whether to click.

Batch-process a whole listing's photo set at once

Since Etsy listings typically use several photos — hero shot, angles, detail, lifestyle, scale reference — drop the whole set into Squeezr together. Each photo gets resized and compressed independently, and you can download the full batch as one zip instead of handling each image one at a time.
